Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Childs of Hinesville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Candace Lynn, to Kevin E. Harbour, son of Mrs. Jennifer Garrett of Twentynine Palms, Calif., and Mr. Ray Harbour of Fernley, Nev.
The bride-elect's maternal grandparents are Mrs. Margie (Monday) Ford and the late Doyle Monday of Speedwell, Tenn. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Childs of LaFollette, Tenn.
She is a 1993 graduate of Bradwell Institute. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and was a member of Alpha XI Delta Sorority. She also graduated from Armstrong Atlantic University in 2001 with a master's degree in early childhood education. She taught for 10 years with the Liberty County Board of Education at Taylor's Creek Elementary but is currently employed with the Morongo Basin School District in Twentynine Palms.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Gray of Riverside, Calif., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Harbour of Orange County, Calif.
He is a 1991 graduate of Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, Calif. and a 1997 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's of science in aviation science. He is currently serving as a captain with the United States Marine Corps at Twentynine Palms.
The couple will be wed at the First United Methodist Church in Hinesville on March 29 with a reception to follow at Club Stewart.
