Development authority members quitting

Editor, I wish to thank the citizens of Liberty County for the privilege and opportunity of serving on the Liberty County Development Authority (LCDA).  As a group, I have found the LCDA has been a cohesive and productive organization intent on serving the citizens of Liberty County now and in the future. In the words of Thomas Jefferson, I have the satisfaction of having added nothing to my private fortune during my public service, and of completing my term with hands clean as they are empty.  I encourage any interested citizen who cares about the future of Liberty County to submit their name and resume for consideration by the Liberty County Commission.
Michelle Obama, in promoting public service, describes it as being “a little cool.” The work of the LCDA is challenging but rewarding. George Washington often remarked that in a free government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude. Every man will speak as he thinks, or properly, without thinking. The seeds of the plans and operations of the LCDA today will bear fruit for generations to come in Liberty County.  It has been a pleasure and honor to be one of the sowers.
Respectfully submitted,

Jeff Arnold
