First responders thank Legion for meal
Placeholder Image
Editor, On Sept. 11, 2010, the American Legion Post 168 and the American Legion Post 168 Ladies Auxiliary prepared a meal for area first responders to honor them for their service. On this day, a few of us who were on duty and our families were fortunate enough to be able to eat with the post members.
On behalf of our families, our other shift members, and the rest of our department, we wanted to publicly thank these men and women for the very nice meal they prepared for us, our fellow firefighters, EMS personnel and law enforcement officers.
Of course the meal was very good, but we especially wanted to thank them for their kindness in recognizing all first responders on this solemn day.
Their hospitality made all of us and our families feel at home and appreciated, and we will never forget this time with them. We don’t deserve any special recognition, and yet they went out of their way to honor us. And for that, we say thanks.
