Libert ARC gets lots of help

Editor, On behalf of the ARC of Liberty, we would like to extend our appreciation to some people in this community who have given their time, talents and generous donations to make life better for adults with developmental disabilities.
This past May, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, under the guidance of Scoutmaster Joseph Blankenship and parent coordinator Beverly Carrdine-Gilmore, assisted The ARC of Liberty in landscaping the front of the Liberty Services Center on Highway 196. They also assisted center Director John Probst in the painting of offices and activity rooms inside the building.
We are very grateful to Boy Scout Troop 420 and their family members: Alex Boucher, Richard and Kimberly Boucher, Zachary Boucher, Christopher Gilmore, Gregory Roman, Adrian Rodriquez, Rayshaun Andrews and Alex Johnson; and to Girl Scout Troops 151 and 172 and their family members: Ashley Gilmore, Jasmine Gilmore, Shadaisha McCracy, Keir Roman, Bryan Roman and Elacha Roman.
We are also deeply appreciative of the very generous donation of paint and supplies by Cliff Hutto, store manager of Sherwin-Williams.
Recognition and gratitude are long past due to another organization that has opened its heart to the adults with disabilities in this community for more than 20 years. The American Legion Post 168 Ladies Auxiliary hosts a Halloween party every year that includes their wonderful chicken dinner, dessert and party favors. There is music, dancing and smiles all around.
To all these wonderful people, we say thank you for making a difference in the lives of adults with special needs. As the family and friends of adults with developmental disabilities in Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Bryan counties, we appreciate your reaching out to this special population within the community.
