Beginning Nov. 1, the YMCA will offer a mixed martial arts class on Tuesdays and Thursdays for ages 5 and older, including adults. Registration for youth basketball (ages 3-16) begins Oct. 15. For more information, call 368-9622.

St. James Sports Center hoops camp
The St. James Sports Center will conduct a free “We got Camp” basketball camp Nov. 5 for boys and girls ages 14 and younger in fifth through eighth grades. Registration is from 9-9:45 a.m. From 10 a.m.-noon, campers will participate in a basketball fundamental workout. There will be a lunch break from noon-1 p.m., and campers can buy lunch at St. James or leave the facility. A guest speaker will address the campers from 1-1:30 p.m. Afterward, campers will participate in games.
The top 20 players will be chosen for All-Star games, and the MVP will receive a free pair of Nike shoes. For more information, call Ernie Walthour at 980-4559 or Rosby Frasier at 977-8559.

Scott’s All-Stars workouts
Scott’s All-Stars offers fundamental workouts from 3-4 p.m. every Sunday at the YMCA. These workouts are free for members and $10 for nonmembers. For more information, call Marcus Scott at 655-4371 or Darrell West at 321-9945.

Work on basketball fundamentals
Basketball fundamental sessions, led by South Georgia Kings founder Jessie Fleming, are from 1-3 p.m. every Sunday at the YMCA. The fee is $15 per session. Fleming also is organizing a new shooting club called the Young Gunz, which will meet twice a week to perfect shooting skills. For more information, call 320-2111 or email jrayfleming@hotmail.com.
