St. James Coastal Crew Rebel Founder Ernie Walthour will host a basketball workout session at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the St. James Sports Center in Holmestown.

Tee Time Golfing for Girls
Tee Time Golfing for Girls is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville.
Hole sponsorships are $100 or more and includes advertising on the course. Registration for golfers costs $50 per person or $200 for a four-person team.
The event will support the Grow a Girl Network’s building fund for a new location in Parkway Plaza at 445 E.G. Miles Parkway, suite 203, Hinesville.

Coastal Georgia Soccer Association
The Coastal Georgia Soccer Association is accepting team registrations. The fee for 4U-8U players is $70 to register plus a $36.50 uniform fee, which applies to new 6U and 8U players only. The registration fee for 10U and 14U players is $85, plus $36.50 for a youth uniform or $38.50 for adult sizes.
Association officials plan to start a 14U team in Midway for Fort Stewart and Midway area players. Practices will be in Midway and games will be on weekends in Savannah.

Register for All-Stars Chess Tournament
Registration is under way for the first annual Scott’s All-Stars chess tournament. The cost is $20 per player and the tournament will be Saturday, Oct. 30. Inspirational Christian Cheerleading Academy
The Inspirational Christian Cheerleading Academy’s competitive squad will have tryouts from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at 719 S. Main St. Registration is $25 per person and team fees are $25 each week.
The cheerleading academy will have its first annual cheerleading clinic from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at 719 S. Main St. The clinic is open to girls and boys in the county who are interested in cheerleading. The cost is $15 per person.

Scott’s All-Stars now taking applications
Scott’s All-Stars are taking application for the 2011 season. There are fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade boys teams. Practice is at 3 p.m. every second weekend (Saturday and Sunday) at the YMCA.

Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run registration now open
Registration is open for the Dec. 4 Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run. Participants can register online at www.active.com, in person at Savannah’s Fleet Feet Sports or by downloading a registration form and mailing it in. The entry fee is $28 for anyone who registers before Oct. 31. The fee is $30 for participants who register Nov. 1-Dec. 2. The fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments. Participants cannot register on the day of the race.
The run gives participants the chance to conquer Savannah’s Talmadge Bridge, a 1.4-mile span at a 5.5 percent grade, 196 feet above the Savannah River. The event includes a 5K run/walk, a 10K run, a double-pump race, a team challenge, a double-pump team challenge and a quarter-mile kids run.

Bradwell’s Cat Walk submissions due


Bradwell Institute is building a “Cat Walk of Fame” featuring former BI athletes who played sports at the college level. Tiger Coach Jeff Miller and his assistants have a partial list of athletes and are gathering names and photos, but they’d like more.
To be eligible for the Cat Walk of Fame, the former athlete must have graduated from Bradwell Institute, played sports at the college level and graduated from college. To submit names or photos, e-mail them to jmiller@liberty.k12.ga.us or mail them, along with a self-addressed and stamped envelope for return, to:
