scrimmage tickets on sale Aug. 9

 

The BI Tigers and the Liberty Panthers will have their football scrimmage at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at Donell Woods Stadium. Tickets go on sale Aug. 9, and are available at both schools and the board of education office. Tickets are $7 and are available through advance purchase only. No tickets will be sold at the gate. The schools’ junior varsity squads likely will scrimmage, too.

A scrimmage is not an official game and the final outcome will not affect the teams’ win and loss records. For more information, call 876-2161, 368-6123 or 876-4316.

 

Monday Night Mixed Bowling League

 

The Monday Night Mixed Bowling League will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Members will bowl after the meeting. For more information, call Jeff Eastlake 369-8384 or Marne Lanes at 767-4866.

 

Saturday

Morning Youth Bowling League

 

The Fort Stewart Youth Bowling League will register bowlers, ages 3-18, from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 11, at Marne Lanes on Fort Stewart. Bowlers must register on Sept. 11 to ensure placement. YMCA youth flag football/soccer

 

Liberty County YMCA registration for fall youth flag football is under way. The season begins Aug. 14.

Fall youth soccer registration also is under way. The season begins the week of Sept. 20.

Long County football,

cheerleading registration

 

The Long County Recreation Department is taking applications for football and cheerleading for the fall season. Children ages 7-12 are eligible for football. Ages for children are 5-12. Registration forms are available at the LCRD office. Completed forms can be returned to the office or dropped off at the concession stand.

The last day to register is Aug. 14. A copy of the child’s birth certificate must be included to verify age. The cost is $25 per participant. For players who will be at least 9 and no older than 10 by Sept. 1, there will be an evaluation at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at the recreation department. Any child who hasn’t registered by Aug. 14 will be allowed to register, but will be put on a waiting list until there is an opening. The fee to register late is $35.
