CYS youth track
and field, soccer
Registration for Fort Stewart Youth Services track and field is under way and will continue as long as slots are open.  Youth track and field is open to all CYS members, both boys and girls, ages 7-14 (age cutoff date Dec. 31, current year).  For more track and field information, call 767-9270/980-2451.
Registration for youth soccer begins Feb. 4 and will end on March 17, or when slots are full.  Youth soccer is open to all CYS members, both boys and girls, ages 4-13 (age cutoff date April 1, current year).  For more soccer information, call 767-4371.
Register for the above sports at Fort Stewart’s CYS, Bldg. 443, Gulick Ave. (next to Corkan Pool).  Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday), telephone 767-2312.  Sports registration is free to children of any parent currently deployed.
Volunteer coaches are also needed. Volunteers can sign up and pick up an application at CYS or Jordan Youth Gym, Bldg. 608 on W. 6th Street.

Golf tournament
The 4th annual MLK Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Tournament will be held at Cherokee Rose Country Club on Saturday, March 8. Check in time is noon and tee time is at 1 p.m. The registration deadline is Thursday, Feb. 28. The cost is $50 per person or $200 per team. Fees included green fee, carts and lunch. Mulligan’s at $5 each. Proceeds will benefit the MLK Jr. scholarship fund. For more information, call Kenneth Howard at 876-3164 or Joe Ford at 408-6441.

LCRD Spring Programs
The Liberty County Recreation Department will conduct registration for 2008 Spring Programs starting today with a registration deadline of Feb. 22. Age verification must be on file for all participants. All programs begin in March. Volunteer coaches are needed for all youth programs. Youth Track & Field
This program is for Liberty County residents who turn 7 and do not turn 15 prior to Jan. 1, 2009. Age divisions are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 for both boys and girls. The fee is $15 per participant.  

Youth & Adult Volleyball
The youth program is for ages 10-16 as of March 1, and the fee is $15 per child. Ages 16 and over may participate in the adult program. The fee for an adult team is $150.  

Youth & Adult Soccer
The youth program is for ages 4-17 as of Aug. 1, and the fee is $30 for ages 4-7, and $45 for ages 8-17.  Ages 16 and up may participate in the adult program.  The fee for an adult team is $150.

Wrestling
For ages 7-17, the fee is $12.

Coastal Crew tryouts set
AAU Coastal Crew Rebels Will hold tryouts this Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for their 13U and 14U basketball team, coached by Rodney Davis. Tryouts will be held at the St. James Sports Center. For more information call Davis at 884-3016 or Ernie Walthour at 980-4559.

Registration for
Energy 5K run
Energy Oasis has announced its second annual 5K race at 9 a.m. April 19 to benefit the International Rett Syndrome Foundation with Richmond Hill resident Amber Gant as inspiration and representative. 
The foundation is a non-profit agency  that funds research for Rett syndrome while enhancing the overall quality of life for those living with it by providing information, programs and services.

Women in he Outdoors
The first annual Women in the Outdoors Event, hosted by Fort Stewart Outdoor Recreation and the National Wild Turkey Federation, will be on Saturday, March 1, on Fort Stewart. The event will encourage women to try outdoor activities. For more information, call Patty Foster at (912) 843-8110.
