BI hosts N. Cobb

Bradwell Institute plays host to North Cobb on Thursday in the opening round of the Class AAAAAA volleyball tournament. The matches begin at 5 p.m. Admission is $5.

The Lady Tigers (record) are the No. 2 seed from Region 3AAAAA. North Cobb is the No. 3 seed from Region 5AAAAA.

Bridge Run registration

 

Registration is open for the Dec. 4 Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run. Participants can register online at www.active.com, in person at Savannah’s Fleet Feet Sports or by downloading a registration form and mailing it in. The entry fee is $28 for anyone who registers before Oct. 31. The fee is $30 for participants who register Nov. 1-Dec. 2. The fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments. Participants cannot register on the day of the race.

The run gives participants the chance to conquer Savannah’s Talmadge Bridge, a 1.4-mile span at a 5.5 percent grade, 196 feet above the Savannah River. The event includes a 5K run/walk, a 10K run, a double-pump race, a team challenge, a double-pump team challenge and a quarter-mile kids run.

Grow A Girl golf tourney

 

Tee Time Golfing for Girls is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville.

Hole sponsorships are $100 or more and includes advertising on the course. Registration for golfers costs $50 per person or $200 for a four-person team.

The event will support the Grow a Girl Network’s building fund for a new location in Parkway Plaza at 445 E.G. Miles Parkway, suite 203, Hinesville.

Grow a Girl Network, a nonprofit, mentors and supports area youth.

A community church bowling league needs new bowlers. The league meets at 6:45 p.m. each Thursday at Marne Lanes on Fort Stewart. Anyone who attends any church is eligible. Sign-up costs $19-$21 and play costs $8 each Thursday. Call Jeri Vick at 876-4351 or 222-0924.

Association registration

 

The Coastal Georgia Soccer Association is accepting team registrations. The fee for 4U-8U players is $70 to register plus a $36.50 uniform fee, which applies to new 6U and 8U players only. The registration fee for 10U and 14U players is $85, plus $36.50 for a youth uniform or $38.50 for adult sizes.

Association officials plan to start a 14U team in Midway for Fort Stewart and Midway area players. Practices will be in Midway and games will be on weekends in Savannah.
