Twilight Special at golf course

The Cherokee Rose Golf Course offers a twilight special. Every Monday-Thursday after 3 p.m., you can play 18 holes for $20, plus tax. The fee includes a cart. For information, call 876-5503.

YMCA Dance classes

• Baby Ballet: Wednesdays, 4:45-5:15 p.m.
• Creative movement: Wednesdays at 4:15-4:45 p.m.
Both classes are $22 for members and $35 for non-members. Classes start in October. For information call 912-368-9622.

YMCA Biggest Loser Challenge

Three six-member teams will face off to see who is the biggest loser.  The program runs from Oct. 20 – Dec. 11 and registrations are under way until Oct. 13. The workout will be on Monday and Wednesday followed by a challenge each Thursday. Time slots available are 5:30 a.m., 9:15 a.m., and 6:30 p.m. Every participant must be available for the Thursday night challenge at 6.  The price is $100 YMCA members, $120 non-members.
All participants must pass a health history pre screen. Eligibility
for the biggest loser
will be determined by body fat percentage.

Clam Jam 2008

The Altamaha Riverkeeper’s, a nonprofit organization that protects the Altamaha River is planning a Clam Jam fundraiser from 4-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Pelican Point Restaurant's River View room in Belleville.
The Altamaha Riverkeeper is seeking donation items for the auction and there are opportunities for Clam Jam sponsorships. Costs for the event are: $75 per person, $100 per couple, $30 for guests 30 years or under or guests with a commercial fishing license. For more information, call 912-437-8164.

Bobcat Classic

Boston butt sale


The state champion FPCA Highlanders boys basketball team will have a Boston butt sale from 12-4 p.m. (or while butts last), today. The sale will take place on the FPCA campus at 308 East Courts Street in Hinesville. The butts will be cooked by Sho-Nuff Smokin Good BBQ. If you would like to buy one, the cost is $20 per butt or if you would like to make a donation to the team please stop by from 12-4.
