Help set a world record

Liberty’s YMCA is hosting the 2011 National Gymnastics Day, and their gymnasts will participate in a nationwide attempt to set a new world record for simultaneous handstands at 1 p.m. Saturday at 201 Mary Lou Drive in Hinesville.
In addition to the world record attempt, the Y will have free sessions of gymnastics instruction, gymnastic team exhibitions, family and individual contests and more activities from
10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Fire dept. golf tourney

The Hinesville Fire Department will host the third annual MDA Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at Cherokee Rose Golf Club in Hinesville.
The fee is $50 per golfer or $200 per four-man team. The tournament has a four-man scramble, best-ball format. For more information, call 876-4143 or go to www.cityofhinesville.org.
