Scott’s All-Stars workouts

Scott’s All-Stars currently is offering fundamental workouts from 3-4 p.m. every Sunday at the YMCA. The workouts are free for members and $10 for nonmembers.

St. James basketball camp

The St. James Sports Center will host a free fundamentals camp Oct. 1. It is open to boys ages 12-14 and players in fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
Participants can check in from 9-9:45 a.m. Camp starts at 10 a.m. From 10 a.m.-noon, campers will participate in an intense fundamental workout.
There will be a lunch break from 12:05-1:05 p.m. Campers can buy their lunch or bring their own. Drinks and snacks will be sold at the St. James concession area. A guest speaker will take the floor from 1:10-1:30 p.m.
The top 24 campers will be selected to participate in an all-star game, which will be videotaped. All-star players will receive free jerseys. Campers must bring shorts and shoes.

HFD hosting tourney for MDA

The Hinesville Fire Deparrtment will host the third annual MDA Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at Cherokee Rose Golf Club in Hinesville.
The fee is $50 per golfer or $200 per four-man team. The tournament has a four-man scramble, best-ball format. For more information, call 912-876-4143 or go to www.cityofhinesville.org.
