Dance classes
Creative movement, for ages 2-1/2 to 4 years, will be given every Wednesday from 4:05 to 4:35 p.m. This class teaches body movement and creativity.
Intro to dance, for ages 5-9 years, is offered every Wednesday from 4:45-5:30 p.m. This class teaches technique terminology and covers jazz, hip-hop, ballet and many others. The cost is $22 for Y members and $35 for non-members. For more information, call the YMCA at 368-9622.

Winter Slam
The stage is being set for the first annual Winter Fest featuring a live concert on Friday at the Skybox Lounge in Midway and a concert and car show Saturday at 10 a.m. at Salters Field. Producer Ernie Walthour is still looking for local talent to feature along with his headline bands for Friday’s concert. Gates for Saturday’s festivities open at 10 a.m., with a concert at 1 p.m. and the car show starting at 3 p.m. Admission to Friday’s concert is $5; admission to the car show is $5. CYS fall registration
Registration for basketball and cheerleading is currently under way and will end on Dec. 10 or when slots are filled. Register at the Fort Stewart CYS, Bldg. 443 on Gulick Ave. The office is open Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wed). For more information, call Dan Mock, Jeff Vreeland or Evelyn Alston at 767-2312 or 767-4371/2815. Registration is open to all CYS members living on or off post. Tentative age groups for basketball are 5-6 Peewee (training), 7-8 Peewee (competitive), 9-10 Mite Boys, 8-10 Mite Girls, 11-12 Midget Boys, 11-14 Midget/Jr Girls, 13-14 Jr Boys, and 15-18 Sr Boy/Girl. Cheerleading open to ages 6-13.
Free to CYS members if any parent is currently deployed (contact CYS for details). Otherwise, CYS registration fee is $18 and sports participation fee is $25.

Basketball tournament
The annual LCRD Tip-off Basketball Tournament is set for Dec. 8 at the Charles Shuman Recreation Center. Age divisions are 12-under, 15-under, and 18-under. There is no fee. Form your team now and sign up for this event.

Adult flag football
The LCRD is accepting team entries for adult flag football for ages 16 and older. The deadline for entering a team is Dec. 7. The entry fee is $200 per team. The program will start in January. For more information, call LCRD at 876-5359. Check out these and other LCRD programs at www.lcrd.net

Adult basketball
Team entries are now being accepted for LCRD adult basketball leagues. Entry fee is $150 per team. Deadline for entries is Dec. 7.

After-school
Kool Kids for Christ, a free after-school program at St. James Community Center offers tutoring and sports. School-age children are encouraged to participate, but registration is required. The children will have worship and praise service followed by tutoring or private homework time. They may then participate in 45 minutes of sports before receiving dinner and going home.
