The American Baseball Coaches Association recently selected Victor Roache as a first-team All-American and named Matt Murray to the All-Atlantic Region second team.
It’s the most recent All-American honor for Roache, who earlier was selected as a second-team All-American by Perfect Game after hitting .326 with 30 home runs and 84 RBIs.
The Ypsilanti, Mich., native previously was selected as a first-team All-American by Baseball America, Louisville Slugger and the National Baseball Writers Association.
He also was the Southern Conference’s player of the year and led the nation in home runs.
Roache also was named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy given to the nation’s top college player.
The sophomore outfielder set new Georgia Southern and Southern Conference single-season home run records and twice was named the SoCon’s player of the month.
