Georgia Southern was eliminated from the NCAA Division I baseball regional Saturday in Columbia, S.C., losing 5-2 to North Carolina State
The Eagles (36-25) fell 2-1 in the opener Friday against defending national champ South Carolina.
Georgia Southern coach Rodney Hennon said his players were kept off balance throughout by starter Michael Roth and the Gamecock pitchers.
“Roth is a hard guy to hit hard,” Hennon said.
The loss spoiled a solid effort by Eagles starter Andy Moye (7-2), who gave up just four hits in his eight innings. Golden Spikes candidate Victor Roache went hitless for GSU on Friday.
