Eric and Ashley (Dowd) Boatwright
Ashley Dowd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Dowd of Hinesville, and Eric Boatwright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Boatwright of Franklin, were married June 2, 2007 at Gum Branch Baptist Church.
The Rev. Henry Dowd, great-uncle of the bride, officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
Wedding music was by Marty Adams, who sang “For the Rest of Mine.”
The bride, attired in a formal gown of satin overlaid with tulle, was given in marriage by her father, who also sang their first dance, “I Loved Her First.”
She wore a tiara veil and her bouquet was made of lavender roses with green orchids.
Brittney McHugh was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Boatwright, Taylor Wells, Sara Mahan and Chrissie Smith. Junior bridesmaid was Cheyenne Smith and the flower girl was Michaela Smith.
Caleb Gibson served as best man. Groomsmen were Tim Cochran, Blaine Keener, Chad Ray, Tyler Dowd and Phillip Dowd.
Junior groomsman was Tyler Boatwright and ring bearer was Trevor Boatwright.
The mother of the bride wore a full-length, light brown dress and the groom’s mother wore a periwinkle full-length dress. Their corsages were white roses.
Following the ceremony, the reception was at the Gum Branch Fellowship Hall.
The couple went to Hawaii for their honeymoon. They will reside in Franklin, N.C.
The bride is a graduate of Bradwell Institute, attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture School and is now attending Southwest Community College.
The groom is a graduate of Franklin High School, has an associate’s degree in business and is a licensed auctioneer.
