A Riceboro woman and two dogs have been displaced following a fire that destroyed the home Thursday night.
Liberty County Services Fire Chief Brian Darby said units from the Riceboro Fire and Rescue department was dispatched to the fire on Big Oak Road shortly after 9 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the two-story home was engulfed in flames. Liberty County Fire Services was dispatched to provide mutual aid in battling the fire.
Darby said the woman and her two dogs got out of the home safely. No injuries were reported and the origin of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross was called in to provide assistance.
