Peering into the sky Monday afternoon without those special glasses didn’t let you see the partial solar eclipse, which took place locally just after 3 p.m.
The next solar eclipse for North America won’t take place until 2044, but that visibility will be limited to very western North Dakota and the eastern third to half of Montana in the U.S.
In 2045, a total solar eclipse will extend from California to Florida, giving Coastal Empire residents their best shot at totality until 2078.
