Engaged: Carter, James to wed May 2

Bobby and Dorothy Carter of Hinesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Carter of Stone Mountain, to Vince James, also of Stone Mountain.
He is the son of David and Juleven James of Stonebridge.
The bride-to-be’s maternal grandparents are the late Frank and Ethel Martin of Sandy Ridge, NC. Her paternal grandparents are the late Dillard and Mabel Carter of Belews Creek, NC.
She is a 2002 graduate of Liberty County High School. She earned a Bachelor’s of Family and Consumer Sciences Degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia in 2005 and a Master’s of Public Administration from Georgia Southern University in 2010.
She is now a forensics specialist with the Georgia Division of Aging Services.
The groom-elect’s maternal grandparents are Pobleo and Elizabeth Fuentes of Kanango, Leyte, Philippines. His paternal grandparents are Dora James of Moses Lake, WA, and the late David James.
He is a 2005 graduate of Union Grove High School. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute and Technology 2009 and is now an environmental health and safety specialist with Kinder Morgan, Inc.
They plan to wed on May 2 at the Historic Statesboro Inn, which is also the site of the reception.
