Janet and Don Whitsett of Pasadena, Texas, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Dr. Donna Dawn Whitsett to William Gardner Cone III, son of Tanya and William Gardner Cone Jr. of Griffin, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Gladys and Julius Enwiller of Rosholt, S.D. Her paternal grandparents were the late Mary Katherine Kameyer of New Port, Ky., and Francis L. Whitsett of Indiana.
She graduated from the University of Houston and received her Ph.D. from the University of Washington, and she is employed in the energy-efficiency field.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Irma and Steve Mihalko of Hinesville and Griffin. His paternal grandparents are O’Neal Cone and the late William Gardner Cone Sr. of Statesboro.
He graduated from Griffin High School and Georgia Tech with a degree in international affairs and a minor in chemistry. He is employed in the TV and film production field.
They will marry Sept. 3, 2011, at Lake Crescent in Washington state.
