Willis and Mary Stewart will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Church of Christ, 317 W. Court St. in Hinesville.

They were married Sept. 20, 1952, in Alexandria, Va.

Cake will be served at the reception. The couple requests no presents.

The Stewarts have six children, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In 1968, Willis was hired to open and manage the Dairy Queen in Hinesville. Seventeen years later, in 1985, Willis and Mary opened their own Dairy Queen in Ludowici. After working there for 19 years, Willis says, “We did not retire, we quit!”

The couple is enjoying travelling and spending time with friends and family.
