Ollie Mae Porter turned 80 years old July 21. She and her family celebrated July 19 with a surprise birthday dinner at the home of her nephew and niece, Dewitt and Gloria Porter.  
Porter has six children, Madeline, Earlene, Charles, Sharon, Sylvia and Senevice; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
Party attendees brought flowers, cards and monetary gifts for the guest of honor.
Porter’s daughter, Earlene Oglesbee, said her mother was grateful for the outpouring of support and love.
“Just to say ‘thank you’ would not be adequate to show how much she appreciated your kindness and thoughtfulness,” Oglesbee said. “You made her 80th birthday celebration so special that it will long be remembered in the years to come. May God continue to bestow his blessings upon you, for you are a God-given blessing in her life.”
