The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia recently commended Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney Tom Durden for his 30 years of service to the state.
Durden was sworn in as assistant district attorney March 1, 1984, by the Hon. James E. Findley.
District Attorney Dupont Cheney promoted Durden to chief assistant district attorney in December 1984.
After Cheney retired, Durden was elected district attorney and took office January 1, 1999.
Since that time, he has continued to serve as district attorney to Bryan, Evans, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Tattnall counties.
