District 5 County Commissioner Gary Gilliard sponsored a back-to-school cookout in Holmestown Park on Aug. 31.
Among activities, school supplies were handed out and Gilliard gave a welcome speech. The cookout was for residents who live in the unincorporated areas of District 5 — Holmestown, Longreach and McIntosh.
Attendees enjoyed free food and children were treated to pony rides . The event was sponsored by Gilliard.
