The fifth annual Alliance of Administrators’ Conference, which has become one of the largest in Liberty County, is coming up. The event will be Thursday-Saturday, April 14-16, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hinesville. The theme is “A heart for the harvest.”
“A Heart for the harvest is a passionate call for believers to sense the times and have a heart to operate in unfamiliar places to reach those in need. We want to stir up the churched to reach the unchurched,” said Elder Daisy Jones of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Jones, along with Evangelist Sheletta Beverly of Temple of Praise Ministries and Minister Brianne Felton of Fellowship of Love Church of God in Christ, serve as leaders of the Alliance of Administrators. The nonprofit ministry focuses on kingdom service and kingdom excellence.
“Church administration is a broad and important aspect of ministry,” Jones said. “Through church administration, we are able to plan, coordinate, follow up and evaluate whether ministry is effective or not, according to the Kingdom agenda, which is God’s plan.
“This year’s conference focuses on motivating and inspiring believers to reach outside their normal scope to help others. Many times we see people through the lens of where we expect them to be and measure them by what we want and expect them to do,” she said.
“People are struggling in circumstances and in difficult situations. The love of God can reach anywhere and touch anyone, but we have to position ourselves to allow His love.”
At 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, the conference will open with a concert by gospel recording artist Pastor Marvin Sapp. On Jan. 15, Sapp topped the list of winners during the 26th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards. His album, “Never Would Have Made It,” is an all-time gospel favorite.
Workshop sessions will begin at noon Friday, April 15. Facilitators will be Pastor Mary Pitts of Life Focus Ministries, Pastor Kendall Paige of Immanuel Christian Center, Pastor Larry Murray of Fellowship of Love COGIC, and Dr. Deloris Mitchell and Pastor M.L. Jackson of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
At 6 p.m. Friday evening, Pastor Kevin L. Betton of Temple of Praise Ministries will present a workshop, and Bishop Julian Jones of Higher Dimensions Christian Fellowship will conduct the worship service.
“There will be intense teaching on Saturday,” Jones said. Workshop sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Speakers will be Apostle Gregory Brunson of Church of the Harvest Ministries, Minister Ursula Boyd of Prevailing True Love Outreach Ministry, Pastor Richard Hayes of New Day Outreach Ministry, Pastor Reuben Speight of Greater Destiny International Ministries, Dr. Mary Napper of Powerhouse of Deliverance and Pastor Leonard Gibbs of St. Joseph COGIC.
Pastor William Williams of Gospel Tabernacle COGIC will present a workshop for senior pastors and administrators only, and Dr. Mary Murray will present a class for first ladies only. The conference will culminate with a worship service by Bishop Julian Jones.
“This is our fifth conference. People are really talking about the conference, and we expect a larger crowd than the previous five years,” Daisy Jones said.
Registration is not necessary to attend the Thursday evening or Friday evening services. However, the registration fee for the Friday afternoon conference sessions and the Saturday morning sessions is $50.
