This week, once again, this country has seen a pattern of inconsistent weather. Much of the country went from an average of 15-20 degrees below normal to that same amount above normal.
In our area, we saw a record nine days above 80 degrees in February and then freezing weather in March.
As it is said in so many places in this country, I was told when I moved here, "If you don’t like the weather today, just wait a couple of days and you will get what you like."
Let’s face it, the weather has always been and always will be inconsistent.
I am so thankful that God is not inconsistent but rather faithful and trustworthy. There is a statement in Malachi 3:6 that says, "I the Lord do not change," and another verse like it referring to God the Son, in Hebrews 13:8 which says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
We don’t have to wonder if the Lord is going to be available to meet our needs today and every day. We are reassured that when we call on him 24/7, he will hear our prayers.
We can know with certainty that our sins are forgiven and where we will end up after death. We can know that God is in control of our world that we live in every single day.
The promises of God’s faithfulness are to those who have trusted our lives to him, to those of us who have made a decision to be obedient to him and his word, to those of us who follow his Son, Jesus Christ. The good news is that the invitation to do so is given to each one of us.
