The women’s ministry of Gum Branch Baptist Church is preparing for yet another big event. They are eagerly anticipating their upcoming simulcast with nationally known author and speaker Beth Moore, who partners with LifeWay to conduct the simulcasts.
The simulcast, to be conducted Aug. 1-2, will be broadcast to more than 70 churches, according to Becky Sizemore of the women’s ministry team at Gum Branch Baptist.
One of the purposes of the simulcast is to reach people who don’t know Christ.
“We are also trying to get the women together,” said Sizemore, whose husband recently became the youth pastor at Elim Baptist Church.
Gum Branch Baptist Church has an active women’s ministry. Every two weeks, the group holds a prayer breakfast from 8:30 a.m.-noon.
“We have a wonderful time studying the scripture and praying. We also have breakfast,” Sizemore said.
The simulcast is open to the public and will offer refreshments.
“The doors will open at 6:30 on Friday and the simulcast will begin at 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. We will have snacks and refreshment,” Sizemore said.   Saturday’s event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast foods. The simulcast will begin at 9:30-1 p.m. with a 30-minute break.
Moore founded Living Proof Ministries in 1994 with the purpose of teaching women how to love and live on God’s Word.
“Beth Moore has written many books and Bible studies,” Sizemore said. Some of her books include Breaking Free, Believing God, Living Beyond Yourself, and The Patriarchs. Moore’s books are geared toward women of all ages.
A compelling and passionate storyteller, Moore peppers her teaching with stories and poems written from the perspective of pertinent characters. As an excellent communicator and writer, she has inspired millions of women around the world. Moore is a regular participant on Christian television.
Women who want to attend the simulcast should contact Gum Branch Baptist Church at 876-3036.  “We are inviting all women,” Sizemore said. “We are looking forwarding to having an exciting time.”
Cost for the simulcast is $25.
