When God created the heavens and the earth, He presented to us the first example of love and harmony. Every action of God includes the thought of harmony and His deep love toward us.
What an awesome, wonderful God we serve. He who loves us so much that even within personal relationships, harmony is forthright in the blessings upon us from God.
We see this in God’s decree in Genesis 2:18, where God looked down upon man, His creation, and said, “it is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
In all aspects of our lives we should plant this same level of love and harmony. We must place the desire for harmony upon our hearts and act upon it by loving one another as we love ourselves. If we reach out and help those in need, saved and unsaved, not just with material items but emotionally too, we will draw them to Christ and to the goodness of the Lord. It is necessary to extend love and harmony to those in our personal families and to members within the body of Christ. The Word of God says in 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.”
When we extend the spirit of love and harmony to those who do not have a relationship with God then we become “ambassadors for Christ” We spread the word of God and let our light so shine through our own behavior, so that God is glorified. When we extend the spirit of love and harmony to our sisters and brothers in Christ within the body, then we help to unify the members of the body. There are many who need the feeling of harmony and Christian love in their lives.
As I close, let us remember, that there is no better example than the one we received when Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of us. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Let us permanently place upon our hearts, the spirit of love and harmony exemplified by God the Father and Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior!”
