There is a sense of anticipation in the air. Members of A New Beginning Church in Ludowici are gearing up to move into their new sanctuary. For months, work has been going on at the church and the excitement has become contagious.
“We are so excited to be able to invite you to join with us as we begin a new journey. We are moving into our brand new worship facility on Oct. 2, 2011, which is located on Highway 57 just past Smiley Elementary School,” Pastor Tom Gardner said.
A New Beginning Church was organized in July 2010 and services have been held in Smiley Elementary School. In the short time since the church was established, it has grown tremendously — both spiritually and physically.
“We have an average attendance of 110- 140 every Sunday,” Gardner said. “Every Sunday, we see new faces and we make sure we do follow-ups. If they don’t see that you are interested in them, they may not come back. We follow up with cards, letters and telephone calls. We try to build relationships.
“Maybe you have just moved into the area or maybe you have been looking for a new church home. We understand that sometimes just living life tends to distract us from placing God first in our lives. We have all been there. That’s why, at A New Beginning Church, we believe that everyone deserves a new beginning,” the pastor said.
According to Gardner, the members of A New Beginning Church want to live out the church’s vision.
“The vision of our church comes from Micah 6:8. ‘He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what the Lord requires of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.’
“To do justly, we want to help the broken and hurting right here in our own back yard,” Gardner said. “To love mercy — blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. We call our church a safe place for hurting people.
“To walk humbly with God — that is why we have a saying ‘never arriving, but always moving forward.’ If you want to be a part of a church like that, we invite you to join us on Oct. 2, 2011 for our first worship service in the new sanctuary at 11:00 a.m.,” the pastor said.
The new sanctuary has a seating capacity of 360, eight people per pew.
“We are not perfect people — far from it — but we are seeking to walk closer with Jesus Christ. You will find many opportunities to do that here. Come and find out that we are a great place for the whole family. We are a multicultural, non-denominational church. Come experience the difference, so we can begin to make a difference,” he said.
A New Beginning Church has Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and worship services at 11 a.m. Sunday evening services are at 6 p.m.
“We will have a dedication service at a later date,” Gardner said. For more information about A New Beginning, call Gardner at 269-1609.
