"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."
— Mark 11:23
We have been called out to be mountain movers. Just before this portion of scripture, we find Jesus driving moneychangers out of the temple. The Bible says he overturned tables and cast out those who bought and sold in the temple.
He then proceeded to teach them what the word says, that the temple should be called a house of prayer, but they had made it a den of thieves. Jesus decided to stand for what’s right and though his method of turning over tables may seem contrary to his character, it was still effective because he changed the atmosphere of the temple.
Sometimes we need major things to happen to move us out of our comfortable place.
You may be a pastor, a husband, a wife, a mother, a business owner, a manager, a supervisor, a leader or a child of God, but nobody walks in perfection.
We all are flawed and because we are one body, we have to learn how to deal with the flaws and the shortcomings of others; the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, the rights and the wrongs. If we are going to move mountains we’ve got to stick with the word of God.
People want to be like you, but don’t want deal with what you went through. They want your money, your time, your company, your business, your favor, your blessings, your charisma, your fame, your figure, your parenting skills, your looks, etc., but don’t want your pain, your loneliness, your struggle, your sin, your work, your dedication, your discipline, your long suffering, your tears, your hurt and disappointments.
They don’t want to be you because mountain movers have to be tried in the fire. You’re carrying all this stuff, weighted and burdened down, but up under all of those layers lies a mountain mover ready to speak and make things happen.
The Bible says he won’t put more on us, than we can bare. I encourage you to open up your mouth and say what God says, speak when God says speak, sing when God says sing, shout when God says shout. Whatever you do open up your mouth, so the mountain can move!
