After a speaking engagement at Immanuel Christian Center on Mother’s Day, Kendall Paige and his wife Kathy Paige were asked to become the church’s leaders.
On May 31, Kendall Paige became senior pastor of Immanuel and Kathy Paige became the co-pastor. The pastor is a native of West Virginia, but grew up in Maryland, and has been in the ministry for 20 years.
The co-pastor is a Florida native. She moved to the Washington, D.C., area after graduating from high school and was licensed to preach in 2005.
Since Paige became pastor, the church has grown and has an average Sunday morning attendance of about 70. “The church has doubled in membership,” Kendall Paige said.
The church is 10 years old and the Paiges are the third leaders. The church’s motto is “A people of worship, wisdom, wellness, and wealth.”
The pastor said he’s inspired when he sees members growing and blossoming. “We have seen members going from mediocrity to understanding their purpose and role in the kingdom,” he said. “This causes me to study and pray more and to give the people more of who God is. My vision is to build a church by building the people. God has called us to be a holy people.”
Bruce Hallford, who served as pastor before Paige, is now the pastor over training and development. Daniel Dotson and Chirnique Dotson serve as youth pastors, and Jerry Oldham serves as the minister of music.
Kathy Paige believes everyone can live and become what God wants them to become. “God has forgiven me and given me compassion and I can use that to help people,” she said.
She is also the author of “In the Mirror,” which is available at Temple of Praise Bookstore in Hinesville.
ICC’s ministries include the men of purpose, ladies roundtable, young peeps, real talk group, praise team and intercessory team. The ICC family is excited about the ministry.
In addition to settling into a new church, co-pastor Paige also is preparing for the second annual KJRP Ministries Walking N2 Wholeness Conference, which is set for Nov. 4-6 at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites in Hinesville.
On Nov. 4, the conference begins at 7 p.m. On Nov. 5-6, the conference begins at 9 a.m. with empowerment sessions.
