There is one thing I know I hate: cold weather.
During the winter months (and yes, I know some don’t believe we have winter here), I keep telling myself that spring is just around the corner. I love springtime and can’t wait until the grass turns green, spring flowers bloom and weather gets warm. One of the difficult things for me is that I have to wait for it; I can’t have it now. During these days, I do learn patience.
There are things more important than weather. The most important thing in the world is establishing a right relationship with God. The Scripture teaches us that we can accomplish this by accepting the forgiveness offered to us through Jesus Christ. Some feel like it is like spring, just around the corner. They sense that they are not yet good enough and are trying to achieve it by doing more good works. Some feel like they are so close and that, somehow, just around the corner, their lives are going to change.
If you are looking for spring, I have some good news for you — it is just around the corner. If you are not in a right relationship with God, I have better news for you — you can be starting right now. You don’t have to wait.
Jesus Christ already has paid the price for your sins; there is nothing you can do to earn salvation. The question is not, “Can I receive it now?” but “Will I receive it now?”
