Fashionetta pageant is Saturday

The Nu Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will showcase eight young ladies during a fashionetta at
7 p.m. Saturday at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center in Flemington.
The contestants are Liberty County Pre-K Center student Kaiden Dotson, who is the daughter of Kenya Miller; Button Gwinnett Elementary School student Eleyesia Theragene, who is the daughter of Jacquelise Etienne; Liberty Elementary School student Laila West, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darryl West; Lewis Frasier Middle School student Chawndalyn Williams, who is the daughter of Clary Williams and the late Tabitha Stevenson (Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Stevenson are her guardians); Lewis Frasier Middle School student Takiya Williams, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Williams; Liberty County High School student Janiyah Carter, who is the daughter of the Rev. Douglas Carter and Janae Carter; Verena LaCelle Jackson, who is the daughter of Andrew and Celestine Jackson  of Waycross; and Liberty County High School student Mary Elizabeth Wilson, who is the daughter of Samuel and Dwinda Wilson.
There will be three categories: la petite, junior miss and senior miss.
Proceeds from the event benefit the sorority’s community-service projects and provide annual scholarships to graduating seniors.
