Walthourville firefighters will be having a Fill the Boot drive for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Saturday.
The 8 a.m.-noon drive will have volunteers at the intersection of Highway 84 and Airport Road is to raise funds for families fighting muscular dystrophy. They'll hit the streets and give passing drivers the opportunity put donations in their boots.
Besides resources for local families, the donations help fund research to find a cure and send children to MDA Summer Camp.
Last year, the Walthourville Fire Department raised $960, which is more than enough to send a child to camp.
