Fort Stewart sets cemetery tour

Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield will have its semi-annual Fort Stewart Cemetery Council cemetery and historical site visit at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2.
During the tour, participants will place historical markers at Bragg and Dreggers cemeteries and visit Waters, Liberty Chapel and Cox cemeteries.
Participants will meet at the
installation’s Pass and Permit Office on Highway 144. For individuals attending from Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Wyane or other surrounding counties, transportation will be available from the Hinesville National Guard Armory parking lot before 8:20 a.m.  
The tour will leave building 8091 at 9 a.m. Port-a-Potty and hand washing stations will be located at Dreggers and Liberty Chapel cemeteries. Comfortable clothing and flat walking shoes are suggested for the trip. In addition, participants may wish to bring a bottle of water. If the weather is bad, the cemetery visit will be postponed to a later date with the same itinerary.
Attendees can buy a box lunch for $4.25 for adults and $3.65 for children. Lunch fees will be collected at the tour’s sign-in table. Exact change is required. Cash only.
