Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss were the main topics at the April Goldenheirs meeting.
Main speaker Theresa Bayman, program and services director for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Georgia chapter, explained the 10 warning signs for early detection of the disease. She said that some memory loss is normal with age and gave advice to help delay or prevent Alzheimer’s, including staying active socially, eating healthy, exercising, taking medications properly and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Savannah Cottage Executive Director Buffy Hankinson and resident relations coordinator Madeline Stanford were special guests at the meeting.
The next Goldenheirs meeting is Tuesday, May 6, in the fellowship hall at First Baptist Church of Hinesville, 220 E. Memorial Drive. All seniors are invited to attend the covered-dish lunch at noon. Liberty County Clerk of Courts Barry Wilkes will be the guest speaker.
