Hinesville S.T.A.R. program tops nation

The S.T.A.R. program of Hinesville recently was named the company’s top program in the nation.

S.T.A.R., which stands for Student Transition and Recovery Programs, is a company that licenses, implements and maintains a disciplinary program for schools and juvenile courts, according to starprograms.com.

At the award ceremony, which was July 25 in Hinesville, S.T.A.R. coordinator Capt. Marnita Johnson received the S.T.A.R. award of service excellence for servicing Liberty County schools since 2007. Johnson also received the coordinator of excellence award. Johnson, 1st Sgt. Charles Isaac, Staff Sgt. Salinda Jones and Sgt. Robert Harvey received the awards for program of excellence and S.T.A.R. performance.

The awards were given during the company’s annual training program.
