The Board of Directors of the Long County Diversity Health Center will have an open house Wednesday for its new Federal Qualified Health Center.
The center at 17 McDonald St., Ste. A in Ludowici, officially opened for services the first of this month, but is inviting area residents to stop by and see the clinic starting at noon on Wednesday.
Federal Qualified Health Centers provide comprehensive primary care and preventive health services to all age groups regardless of their ability to pay. They use a sliding fee scale with discounts based on patient family size and income in accordance with federal poverty guidelines. Governed by a board of directors that represent the populations served, the board's major responsibility is to ensure the center is community-based and responsive to healthcare needs.
Tours of the clinic will be provided and refreshments available. Call 545-9398 for additional information.
