The Rev. Dr. Alan Baroody of The Fraser Center addresses members of the Rotary Club during their weekly meeting Nov. 27. He is a Presbyterian minister, pastoral counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist.

Baroody discussed the impact the military deployment has on families. Children are typically the first to show mental health symptoms and are usually brought in for counseling before any other member of the family.

Baroody said there is also a correlation to how the mother reacts to the deployment and how the children will react.
