SAVANNAH —La Leche League of Savannah is planning a “Family Fun Day” to kick off World Breastfeeding Week. The event will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 3 W. Liberty St. Doors open at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. Event updates can be found at www.facebook.com/lllsavannah.
Families are invited to come learn more about breastfeeding and the resources available to them as they navigate their parenting journeys. The day will feature snacks, activities, vendors, raffles and a silent auction.
Local vendors will be present with product samples and information about services they provide. Parking will be available on the street and in nearby parking garages.
Raffle and silent auction items are being donated by local and international companies and supporters. Check the Facebook page for updates on the items that will be available.
“We hope families in Savannah and the surrounding areas will join us to learn more about the benefits of breastfeeding for mothers, babies and the environment. Human milk is the gold standard for providing infants with protective nutrients,” said Wendy Cohen, one of five volunteer Leaders with La Leche League of Savannah.
