Fundraiser for children's unit at Memorial
memorial fundraiser

SAVANNAH — The Next Generation, a volunteer organization founded to benefit The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center, will host its first summer soirée, a signature fundraising gala, at 7:30 p.m. July 18 at the Savannah Yacht Club.
Funds raised at the summer soirée will benefit The Next Generation’s Angel Wings campaign, which is a three-year effort to raise $275,000 to purchase a new neonatal intensive care ambulance.
The Children’s Hospital houses the only Level III neonatal intensive care nursery in the region and is the only facility in Southeast Georgia equipped to treat the most critically ill and premature newborns.
“The summer soirée represents a major milestone for The Next Generation. For 5 years, community members have turned out in impressive numbers to help us raise money that gives hope and a sense of comfort to the children and families staying at The Children’s Hospital,” said Kimberly Pannell, president of The Next Generation. “We are excited to officially kick off our Angel Wings campaign at the summer soirée and raise the funds needed to purchase a neonatal intensive care ambulance for our community. It’s important to us that children throughout our region have access to the very best medical care.”
