Hinesville Mayor Tom Ratcliffe recently signed a proclamation declaring May 24 Healthy Hero Babies Day. Sponsored by a grant from the Georgia Chapter of the March of Dimes, Healthy Hero Babies is an initiative dedicated to reducing the number of babies born early and/or too small. It also offers programs that focus on education about the signs of pre-term labor, specifically for the care of military dependents and active duty female soldiers who receive little to no care in their first trimester of pregnancy.
