In support of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement and the fight against heart disease, the faculty and staff of Liberty Elementary School participated in National Wear Red Day on Feb. 3.
Principal Chris Anderson encouraged the faculty and staff to wear red and spread the news about heart disease in women.
School nurse Katie Johnson shared reading material and enlightened the faculty and staff about the disease that has claimed the lives of many men and women around the world.
Many parents who visited the school asked, "Why is everyone wearing red?” The faculty and staff members were happy to answer, "We are joining together to raise awareness about the silent killer — heart disease."
