The Long County Health Department has a new nurse manager.
A 1995 graduate from South Georgia College, Kathy Rowell brings to the job a variety of nursing experiences to include working in a nursing home, public health and as a nurse manager for a home-health agency for multiple counties in southeastern Georgia.
The Coastal Health District and Long County Board of Health are pleased to have Rowell as their new manager, and noted her professionalism and inventive ideas for promoting preventive health activities and public health programs.
When asked what she liked about public health and her new job, Rowell said, “I love this job because I can make a difference in people’s lives. Through education, screening and counseling, I can help facilitate a better quality of life for people who might not otherwise have understood how to go about the change.”
