Hinesville Military Affairs Committee, along with committee members P.J. and Melinda Schneider, won the Vaden Extra Mile Award. The Schneiders received a $500 check on Dec. 6 at Hinesville City Hall after being nominated by their son, William. Each week, the Vaden family of dealerships awards $500 to a group or individual who has gone the extra mile. HMAC distributes yellow bows, hosts events, sends flowers to soldiers on behalf of the city, using funds donated by the city of Hinesville and participates in Warriors Walk ceremonies, according to Melinda Schneider. “This is the least we can do,” she said.
