SAVANNAH — “Johnny Mercer and Me!,” a musical celebrating the life of American songwriter and singer John Herndon “Johnny” Mercer will make its Savannah debut at The Lucas Theatre at 8 p.m. Sept. 22. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Learning Center of Senior Citizens, Inc. Written by Savannah native Miriam K. Center, the show reflects on Mercer’s music through the eyes of his longtime friend and confidante, Maxine.
