NFL championship games Sunday at Rocky's

Watch the AFC and NFC Championship games Sunday at Rocky’s Zone, where there’s no cover charge and not a bad seat in the house. 

The Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots will battle for the AFC. The San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons will play for the NFC championship. The winners will play in SuperBowl XLVII Feb. 3.

Rocky’s opens at noon and will remain open until the games end. Drink specials will be offered.

Youth soccer, track and field

Fort Stewart Youth Sports is enrolling track and field (ages 7-14 as of March 1) and soccer (ages 4-13 as of Dec. 31) through Feb. 15. Call Parent Central Services at 767-2312 or stop by Building 442 to join a team. The cost is $30 per child.

Ladies on the Links

Register by Friday for the Ladies on the Links 3 clinics from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday and on Jan. 26 at Hunter Golf Club. Putting and short game mechanics are taught on day 1. Full swing mechanics, questions and answers, plus a course visit are planned for day 2. For details, call 315-9115.

 

8 for 8 Bowling League

Eight for Eight Bowling League is open for kids (ages 4-12) from 10 a.m.-noon Saturdays, starting Saturday at Stewart Lanes. Children bowl two games per week and at the end of the program receive a bowling ball.

The $8 per week cost covers shoe rental, instructional fees, equipment and one-year membership to USBC Basic Youth with card and award Emblems. For more information, call 767-4273.

 

Rocky’s features salsa band

Club Night, featuring the Sal Pal Son salsa band, will be from 9-1 Jan. 26 at Rocky’s Zone.

A soldier or guest judged by the audience to be the best-dressed in Latin attire will win a prize. The dance floor will be open.

The cost is $5 per person. Drink specials and snacks will be available. Patrons must be 18 to enter and 21 to drink.

Aerobic-Thon

An Aerobic-Thon & Health Fair will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 26 at Tominac Fitness Center on Hunter. The event is free.   

The Aerobic-Thon samples various aerobic styles taught by certified instructors. Styles include kick-boxing, step, zumba and more. 

The Health Fair will begin at 9 a.m. and feature fitness assessments, including body fat measurement, nutritional information and health screenings.

Dinner and bowling

Stewart Lanes will have a Family Night Dinner and Bowling Special from 4-8 Jan. 27. $30 gets your family of five 10-total games, five shoe rentals and dinner. For more information, call 767-4273.

 

Freedom Trail tour

Register by Feb. 2 for Leisure Travel’s Freedom Trail tour in Savannah at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 9.

See the remnants of the Underground Railroad, a market where slaves were bought and sold, and the Savannah African American Monument.

'Ice Age: Continental Drift'

"Ice Age: Continental Drift" will be the Dive-In Movie shown at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at Tominac Fitness Center’s indoor pool.

Mardi Gras at Thunder Run

Get a taste of New Orleans Mardi Gras from 8 p.m. until midnight on Feb. 8 at Thunder Run.

The evening includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and live zydeco and Cajun music, plus various casino games such as infinity bingo, blackjack and Texas hold’em. Cost is $25 per person or $40 per couple in advance; $30 per person, $50 per couple at the door.
