Hall’s Music and Farms in Allenhurst will hold its annual Old Southern Sugarcane Grinding Festival at 2 p.m. Nov. 18. The event will take place rain or shine.

The festival is hosted by Hosley Hall, owner/operator of Hall’s Music and Farms. The event focuses on the 18th- and 19th-century method of making sugarcane syrup, featuring the step-by-step process of how the plant is harvested and trimmed and how the syrup is organically made and collected.

The event will also feature live entertainment and family-friendly activities, such as storytelling and wood chopping. There will be cane chewing and biscuit sopping contests, as well.
