Post lighting up camp area for holidays

Fort Stewart’s Holiday Hayride and Light Festival will be 6-8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8-9. The public is invited.

Outdoor Recreation will bring Holbrook Pond Recreation Area to life with Christmas lights, illuminated decorations and activities for all ages.

Holiday scenes and displays light up the campground area trail for the 15- to 20-minute hayrides.

Activities include boat rides, roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, time for the children to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, the MWR Kiddie Train and pony rides for children. The Kringle Market, sponsored by FRGs, will provide food sales. Costumed characters will roam the market for photo ops with children.

The cost to enter the Holbrook area is $15 per vehicle Dec. 8-9. Cash or credit card.

From Dec. 10-25, individuals will be able to drive through the Holbrook area to view the lights from 6-8:30 each evening.
