• St. James Community Church in Midway will celebrate black history week at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28.

• The Historical First African Missionary Baptist Church of Riceboro will have its annual black history program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28. 

Students and visitors at Savannah Technical College’s Liberty Campus gathered Thursday for two presentations in honor of Black History Month. At the noon presentation, student Brenton Jordan shared two West African dances with the audience, wowing visitors with his enthusiasm and boundless energy. More talent presentations and a concert were scheduled for the evening show, as well as a contest for students to present entrepreneurial business plans.
